Texas Rose Horse Park USEA HT, Tyler, TX Nov 19-20, 2011
Five Texas PF Flyer horses and riders went to this last event of the season.
Every horse and every rider accomplished some really good things.  Every one of them learned or relearned some inportant lessons.
We had some dressage rounds that were really, really good.
We had some dressage rounds that had some really good parts and some room for improvement.
We had a couple of stadium jumping rounds that were double clears and a couple with 2 rails each.
We had a couple of cross country rounds that were double clears and a couple with just a few time faults.
We had a couple of riders who got the chance to tell their horses "we'll do it my way" and were successful doing it.
We may not have brought back a single ribbon, but everyone had success and we all had fun.
Good job one and all!

We came, we fought, and we brought rails down in Stadium - but cross country was awesome!
Congratulations Kim Mayfield and Cruze for another prelim cross country round without jumping faults.
Janet, congratulations for your double clear on XC and no time faults in Stadium. Good job for Zar's first time out in a year.
Hayley, how about that - keeping control and still making time on XC. Way to go!
Kim Dickman and Podunkus Pete, thanks for turning in at least 1 double clear in Stadium for us.

  • Thanks to Susan Foust (Morgan's mom) and Cathy McCall (Cat's mom) for support, parenting, scorekeeping, and handling the show's complaint department. We wouldn't have made it without you.
  •
  • Thanks to Cindy and Greg Alvis (Hayley's folks) for support, parenting, and making about a gazillion trips to the hotel. You were great.

Congratulations to Kim, Mel, and Sam for finishing on your dressage scores.  Those double-double clears are good.
Nice going Kim Dickman on your come-from-behind win.  Doesn't that make 2 in a row?
Mel and Sam thought the course looked so easy that they walked the Training course.  Really!
Congratulations Morgan for recognizing that your horse was turtlenecking and then fixing it.
Hayley - congrats for getting time penalties for all the right reasons.
Janet ask that we thank Adri for roping the burro.  Just wish it had helped more.
And Peggy,  so you get Jay off the track last fall, put basics on him over the winter, jump him a dozen times or so, and end up with a numeric score and a ribbon.  Never mind that he had the best dressage score of the H.T.  Good job!

Good job Sam and Mel on leading from wire to wire.  That pressure's tough, isn't it.
Congratulations to Sam, Cat, Haley and Janet for finishing on your dressage scores (and Mel for that pesky single time fault in SJ),
A special bow to Mel for a 25.7 in dressage - the 3rd lowest score of the horse trials.  The 1st & 2nd lowest were in Haley's class.
Congratulations Kim on finishing your second Prelim.  Nice way to move up.
Morgan, I understand you won the "war of the water", followed by a no-fault stadium round.  Good going.
So Hayley, how'd you like those rubber reins?

Hayley - nice going. I understand that if they'd just split the division, you'd have won the Junior.
Kim - I heard that's the most beautiful stadium round you've done. Congratulations.
Janet - another beautiful stadium round. Way to go. Too bad you didn't get extra credit for the beautiful flying change you got at 'X' when the judge was expecting that canter-to-trot transition.
Sam - just one rail in stadium on your first time out at Training.  Good job.

I'll post the results as soon as I get them. If you want them posted quicker, or if I've posted a mistake - email the information to me.
