Janet Taylor

You'd never guess it but Janet's qualified in hand-to-hand self-defense.
Not impressed? She's also qualified on the M16. She says it's really no big deal.

When health problems prevented Janet from competing in late-spring and summer, 2002, Peggy took over for her with Keno to continue with Keno's career. See other pictures of Keno with "Peggy's Horses".  Then Ariel Valdez showed him for a time.  A picture of Ariel and Keno can be found on Memory Lane.

In 2006, in a freak accident, Keno shattered the head of his tibia (broke his back leg).  After nearly two years of enforced rest and careful re-hab, he was sound for dressage and ready to start light jumping again.

In mid 2008, Tamy Pollard started riding Keno.  Their first Beginner Novice was at the inaugural Corona del Sol Horse Trials at Baird, TX.  When they came in from cross-country, Keno was grinning from ear to ear!  Their very successful partnership lasted until May, 2009, and resulted in year-end ranking for 2008 and a National Leaderboard listing in Master, Beginner Novice for Tamy.

Spring 2009, Janet started riding Keno again.  At the Summer Corona del Sol Horse Trials, Janet and Keno moved back up to Novice, for the first time in several years.  Late that fall they moved back up to Training to give that a try again and it was successful.  In May of 2010, Janet and Keno completed the MeadowCreek Training 3 Day Event - not bad for a rider who'd had to quit and a horse who'd broken his leg.
